Prints that are on exhibit from August 1st until September 7th at
Paperworkers Local in Birmingham, Alabama.

The prints I've selected for this exhibition are representative of my interactions with natural environments and cultures from around the world. Some, such as the Semana Santa prints, represent old traditions continuing into the present. The taking of a photograph is almost always an instinctual moment—looking for aesthetically intriguing shapes and tones which have the promise of allowing the future viewer to infer meaning. Printing these images is a creative process of its own. Experimentation with inking, wiping the plate, paper choices, color, and layering techniques serves to complement and enhance the visual impact of each image. For each print in this exhibition, there are multiple versions that are not on display.
